Using the Slow Shutter iPhone app, I was able to take layered slow exposures of this couple walking through my shot.

Hitched Up
The ground crew hitches up this Boeing 737 onto the tug, so the aircraft can be re-positioned on their ramp. The worker near the nose gear is making sure the tug slides the lift plate under the wheels. Once secured the little tug can maneuver the 737.

Museum Donation
Last July, Air Transport International donated one of their last two DC-8-62CFs, N799AL, to the Naval Air Museum at Barbers Point. The DC-8 is on static display at the museum. This group shot was taken after the hand-over ceremony.
The historical part of N799AL was that it flew out of Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam to Wake Island and Travis AFB as a Department of Defense charter with ATI. In the 1980s, it flew with Hawaiian Airlines and Air Marshall Islands (but based at HNL).

Batman
One of the camera operators for OC16 Sports changed into his Batman costume during halftime of the first game of the night, on the week before Halloween. We were both in the high north end zone camera positions. He was hamming it up, while another camera operator in the low south end zone put him on TV.

Flight Simulator
Last June, I was invited to preview the new Airbus A330 flight simulator that Hawaiian Airlines purchased, and installed here in Honolulu. Members of the media were invited to "up" in the simulator for a flight. During my time in the simulator, we did two flights, the first by the pilot; and the second, I got to take off and land at HNL. I took this "selfie" with my iPhone and an Olloclip fisheye attachment.

DO29
The Farrington High School Governors football team normally has the left side of their helmets blank. During the 2013, one of their players, senior cornerback Dayne Ortiz, was lost in a kayaking accident in Mokule‘ia, this past November. The Governors were on track for the state football championship when the tragedy happened. To honor Dayne's memorial, the team applied the "DO29" decal on the left side of their helmets for the remainder of their state football playoff run.

Graffiti Trio
Our nieces and nephew pose like the cat on the wall. The mural was part of a street art project in Kaka‘ako called PowWow Hawai‘i. This mural was painted over a few weeks ago, as the 2014 edition has new art painted over the 2013 murals.
