The 1st flower to bloom from an orchid plant I "adopted" from a neighbor on my floor, who no longer wanted it.
When I took it in, the plant looked malnourished, but after a few days of watering, it sprang back to life. New shoots sprang up, and one branch emerged with six buds from the tallest stem. This is the first of the six pack to bloom. All the while, I nurtured my plant, I often wondered what colors the flowers would be ... now I know.
