While photographing an airliner a few weeks ago, I came across this bird waiting on a concrete tire block near my car. As I approached my car, the bird did not budge, but watched me. I was looking at the bird, and thought ... it's not a dove, nor is it a bulbo ... so I got this photo of it ... the face looks like a bird of prey in a dove's body.
Any ornithologists or bird watchers know what kind of bird this is?

I'm afraid I'm no help in that department. The only birds I can identity are pigeons and bluejays. He does have quite an intense stare, doesn't he. I hope someone solves the mystery.
