Kukaimanini Islet

Off of Pahipahi‘alua Beach is Kukaimanini Islet.  The flat islet is about 30 yards off-shore. The name Kukaimanini means "little droppings".

Hui!

Aloha mai......in John Clark's "Beaches of O`ahu" (1977: 130), he writes: "The small island just offshore was called Kuka`imanini, 'manini fish procession.'" There is a macron, or kahako, over the u in Kuka`imanini. He got that information from Emma Blanchard, a well-known Kahuku kupuna who was born and raised in the Marconi area.
