‘A Hui Hou Pastor Jon
Pastor Jonathan Smith was a worship leader at New Hope Leeward. He also led, and played on worship teams at other churches. Pastor Jon lost his battle with cancer a couple of weeks ago, and went home to be with Jesus. This afternoon, our church will gather to celebrate his life. He will be missed here, but I'll get to see him in Heaven.
He was a friend, and co-worker, as well as a great man and great guitarist. He considered me a part of the worship team, even though I don't sing nor play a musical instrument, but because I shot hand-held video camera on stage; and always wanted to include me in the worship team prayer huddles.

Packing Beer
While waiting for my dad at Costco, I saw this lady break open a case of Bud Light, and pack it in her suitcase, along with some snack foods she put between her clothes. Why would someone pack a case of Bud Light in their suitcase? Isn't it available globally? Her and her husband appeared to be Japanese Nationals. I just had to sneak a shot of this! After they packed their suitcase and a large carry-on bag, they walked off into the parking lot.

Skippa Tribute
Edward "Skippa" Diaz was a long-time (1982-99) head coach for the Farrington High School Governors football team. In 2014, Coach Skippa, as he was affectionately known, lost his battle with cancer. For that season, the team honored Coach Skippa with two stickers on the left side of the players' helmets.

Ray's Kiawe Chicken
On weekends in Hale‘iwa, the Ray's Kiawe Broiled Chicken stand draws a huge crowd for its delicious Hawaiian-style rotisserie chicken cooked over kiawe wood chips. This chicken is the best kiawe chicken on the north side of O‘ahu, and worth the drive out to Hale‘iwa.

Car Accident
While out shopping a few months back, we came across this accident scene outside the Pearl Highlands Center. It appears that the dark blue SUV driving down Acacia Road, lost control, crossed against traffic, then ended up over the hedge, and against the building. The SUV also took out a palm tree, which can be seen under the front end.

Game Camera
For last season's state high school baseball tournament, I filled in on the centerfield game camera for OC16 during the Division 2 quarterfinals. One of the schools playing that night, was Maryknoll, my alma mater. Fortunately, I got to see my team pull off a come-from-behind victory.

Carli Lloyd Interview
Carli Lloyd, from the US Soccer's Women's National Team, does an interview with Hawaii News Now prior to their practice at Aloha Stadium. The team was scheduled to play Trinidad & Tobago for an international friendly victory tour, after the team won the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup. The night before the match, the USWNT called off the match over concerns over the quality of the artificial turf.
The larger story turned to be how FIFA had women's soccer play their matches on artificial turfs while the men's teams play their matches on natural grass. The women are seeking equality to play all their matches on natural grass.
