Ganbare Nihon
In the wake of the earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear disaster that struck the Tōhoku Region of Japan, Japan Airlines (JAL) issued these "Ganbare Nihon" ("Keep going Japan") sunshades for their fleet. A few of their aircraft received large "Ganbare Nihon" decals. This JAL Boeing 767 was parked at HNL between flight segments. To say the least it caught my eye, as I walked through the main terminal.

Runway 24R Approach
On the north side of LAX, is an In-N-Out Burger restaurant. During our trip last November, Kat & I stooped there for lunch, and sat outside so I could photograph airliners and eat lunch at the same time. This is the view of the street, and a fast-approching Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 as it will pass by to land on Runway 24R.

Japanese Fan Dance
To celebrate the launch of their service to Haneda International Airport in Tokyo, Japan, Hawaiian Airlines held pre-boarding festivities that included a traditional Japanese dance by a local Japanese cultural group.

Feeding Time
Reef fish come to the surface to attack morsels of bread that were tossed in by a group of Japanese tourists. They were going on one of the sunset dinner cruises based out of Honolulu Harbor, and their limousine driver gave them some bread to feed the fish.

Hosed!
Lieutenant Colonel Jeff "Saw" Sage of the Hawai‘i Air National Guard's 199th Fighter Squadron gets doused by a fellow pilot at the end of the unit's final F-15C Eagle training sortie. With the retirement of the Eagle, both pilots in the sortie were hosed down. It's been said that when a pilot or aircraft is retired, the pilot gets sprayed after the final sortie. The Hawai‘i Air National Guard held a media event for this event, which also featured their new F-22A Raptor.

Bus Ride
As part of New Hope Leeward's search for it's own plot of land, the church leadership held a prayer ride, where church members prayed over the west side of O‘ahu, and the possible parcels the church seeks to acquire in the next few years. We rode on chartered school buses to our prayer sites, and this was a shot took of the side-view mirror.

Nose To Nose
Two Boeing 737-800s park nose-to-nose on the Castle & Cooke Aviation ramp, after they both arrived from Boeing Field. The Okay Airways 737-800 (facing out) arrived first, and the Malaysia Airlines 737-800 arrived a half-hour later. Both "Baby Boeings" are on their delivery flights to China and Malaysia, respectively. Both 737s left the next day for Majuro (Federated States of Micronesia) on the second leg of their journeys home.
