Orange Streamers

Orange streamers lay on Aloha Stadium's turf following the end of the 2016 NFL Pro Bowl's post game presentation, as Team Irvin won the game. It would be the final NFL Pro Bowl game played at Aloha Stadium.

It does not seem like it's been a decade since the last Pro Bowl was played at Aloha Stadium. Now the 51-year-old structure is undergoing demolition for the new Aloha Stadium.

Pro Bowl TV Timeout

During a TV timeout in the 2016 NFL Pro Bowl, the Aloha Stadium video crew captures a group of NFL Pro Bowl Cheerleaders performing in the south end zone, and the shot can be seen on the video board in the background.

Coincidentally, the two video crew are also San Francisco 49ers fans, and happen to be shooting the 49ers cheerleader.

Seahawks Fan

A Seattle Seahawks fan, known as "12s", holds up his sign as the play moved closer to the south end zone during the 2016 NFL Pro Bowl.

KC Wolf

KC Wolf, the mascot for the Kansas City Chiefs, looks through a long lens left on the turf by one of the many sports photographers at the 2016 National Football League Pro Bowl. This weekend kicks off the 2024-25 NFL season ... good luck to your favorite team!

At The Snap

Team Rice quarterback Derek Carr drops back after taking the snap, and looks for a receiver to throw to during the 2016 NFL Pro Bowl. I slowed down the shutter speed to achieve the motion blur of the offensive and defensive lines, while Carr seem to be frozen.

Opposing Teammates

Seattle Seahawks teammates, Cornerback Richard Sherman (25) and Wide Receiver Tyler Lockett (16) played against each other in the 2016 NFL Pro Bowl. Sherman is seen trying to distract Lockett from making the catch. Lockett made the catch, then stepped out of bounds.

Those selected to play in the NFL's 2016 all-star game, were then selected to play for either Team Rice or Team Irvin. Sherman was selected to play for Team Irvin, while Lockett was selected by Team Rice. The Seahawks had two other players for Team Irvin: QB Russell Wilson, and DE Michael Bennett; and LB Bobby Wagner was selected by Team Rice.

2016 NFL Pro Bowl

This month's Instagram collage features photos from the 2016 NFL Pro Bowl. The league announced today that the game will be moving to Orlando, Florida, so this year's game was the last at Aloha Stadium.

Signing Autographs

Warm-up

Team Sanders' quarterback Nick Foles (Philadelphia Eagles) warms up before entering the game in the 3rd quarter. Foles was also named the game's Offensive MVP.

Halftime Show

For halftime, Fall Out Boy performed a couple of songs, complete with dancers, the NFL Pro Bowl Cheereleaders, and fire knife dancers. NBC, who broadcasted the game, aired the first song, and our crew covered the rest. Today's photo shows some of the pyrotechnics during the first song.

Sideline Interview

During some of the TV Timeouts, I had to shoot sideline interviews. Alan Roach (center) interviews Fullback Marcel Reese (right) of the Oakland Raiders, and Wide Receiver Desean Jackson (left) of the Philadelphia Eagles. I had one of my cable pullers take this photo, and in the upper left corner, you can see what I'm shooting on the second JumboTron.

Game Day

Each year that I have shot the NFL Pro Bowl, I bought a cap to wear on game day. This year, I bought  the Team Sanders cap, which coincidentally (or not), I was shooting on that sideline. Also, shown is the camera (under the rain cover), my game day credentials, and my XS Energy Shot.

2014 NFL Pro Bowl

Our theme week for March is the 2014 NFL Pro Bowl. This year, the NFL changed the team format from the traditional AFC / NFC match-up, to an unconferenced match-up in which the NFL All-Stars we selected by Hall of Famers Jerry Rice and Deion Sanders. 

Today's photo was taken from the red section of Aloha Stadium with my iPhone and the Ölloclip wide-angle attachment.

Raiderette

Oakland Raiderette Natalie chats with a couple of Oakland Raiders fans during the 2011 NFL Pro Bowl.

Sheila E

Percussionist Sheila E made an appearance at the 2011 NFL Pro Bowl to play with a Polynesian drum group during a TV timeout for the Aloha Stadium crowd. After her performance, she watched the remainder of the game on the NFC sidelines wearing the Drew Brees black New Orleans Saints game jersey hanging in front of her drum kit.

The diminutive drummer recently made an appearance on "The Late Show with David Letterman" for "Drum Solo Week".

Snipers

Snipers from the Honolulu Police Department's Specialized Services Division set up their perch in the light bays of Aloha Stadium for the NFL Pro Bowl. 

Cooling Off

This young Denver Broncos fan checks to see how this "Big Fog" water fans works on the AFC sideline, before the start of the 2011 NFL Pro Bowl. Each sideline during the game had several of these Big Fogs to keep the players cool, with temperatures reaching 80°F, and humidity in the 80% range at game time. The fans have a water hose hooked to it, and sprays a fine mist. It does work, I spent a few minutes under one before we went live.
