End Of Watch
Two Sundays ago, the City & County of Honolulu was devastated by a horrific event in which a mentally disturbed individual shot and killed two Honolulu Police Department officers, wounded another; along with killing his landlord, and injuring a housemate. Officers Tiffany Enriquez (Badge Number 3367), and Officer Kaulike Kalama (Badge Number 2340) were shot as they approached the house where the individual was, and passed away at the hospital. The gunman also set fire to the house, and because HPD was not sure of his whereabouts, the fire spread throughout the block; and the gunman is presumed dead.
HPD officers were issued black memorial badge bands following the tragedy. A few days ago, new bands were issued with the badge numbers of Officers Enriquez and Kalama, shown in the above photo.
Our condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to the families of Officers Enriquez and Kalama, as well as their fellow officers of the Honolulu Police Department.
