Wai‘alua Coffee Cherries

Wai‘alua is O‘ahu's larget coffee growing district. At the old, and now defunct Wai‘alua Sugar Mill, Wai‘alua Coffee Growers use part of the facilities for their coffee operations. Some fields on O‘ahu's north side that were used to grow sugar cane, are now used to grow coffee.

These coffee cherries were on display at the Wai‘alua Sugar Mill, which is now used by several different businesses.

I've never heard of coffee cherries before. I suppose that's where we get the beans? That's such a pretty shot of them.
